| Description |
English: Eilean Donan Castle The site of Eilean Donan Castle is an ancient one. There is evidence of a fort here in the Iron Age over 2,000 years ago. Early in the 13th century, a castle was raised on this tiny island by Alexander 11 of Scotland, probably as a defensive outpost against the Viking colony in Skye. |
