Summary
[edit]DescriptionEight bay bowtie TV antenna.jpg |
English: Channel Master model 4228HD 8 bay VHF/UHF rooftop television antenna. This is a type called a reflective array or "bowtie" antenna. It consists of an array of 8 "bowtie" dipole driven elements mounted in front of a wire screen reflector. The "X" shape of the dipoles gives them a wide bandwidth, apparently wide enough to cover both the VHF band 174-216 MHz and the UHF band 470-700 MHz. Using 4 rows increases the gain in the horizontal direction. Channel Master's specifications say it has 5 dB VHF gain, 12 dB UHF gain, 18 dB front-to-back ratio, and the list price is $109.00. Extending up above the antenna is a lightning rod. |
