Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Eglwys Llanrhwydrus Church This is one of the oldest and most remote of Anglesey's religious sites. The first church here, on a drumlin above the sea and protected to the east by marshland, was established by St Rhwydrus, a son of Rhodrin, the King of Connaught (Western Ireland). The present church dates from the 12thC. In modern times, Llanrhwydrus had been under the care of the rector of Llanrhuddlad and Betws Perwas, who also had charge of Llanfflewin. Rationalization in recent years has seen the church become part of the extensive Benefice of Bodedern with Llanfaethlu. Services are held occasionally at the church.
