English: Eglwys Llanilltyd / Llanilltyd Church
Gweddillion Eglwys Sant Illtyd a fu tan 1887 yn gapel anwes i Eglwys Defynnog. Mae'n bosib fod capel wedi bod ar y safle hwn ers y canol oesoedd ac yn ol traddodiad dyma lle y merthyrwyd a chladdwyd Sant Illtyd yn ystod y 5eg ganrif. Ailadeiladwyd yr eglwys yn 1858 ac fe'i dymwchwelwyd yn ystod y 1990u. The remains od St Illtyd's Church which was until 1887 a chapel of ease to Defynnog Church. It's possible that the site has been used for worship since the middle ages and tradition has it that this is where St Illtyd, a 5th century saint, was martyred and then buried. The church was rebuilt in 1858 and demolished during the 1990s. |
