English: Eglwys Beuno Sant Penmorfa A detail of the 19th-century carving around the sanctuary. The text is from St Matthew's Gospel: "Deuwch ataf fi bawb ar y sydd yn flinderog ac yn llwythog" (Come unto me all ye who labour and are heavy laden).
According to the Cambrian News of 27 April 1899 "All the woodwork...has been skilfully carved by Mrs Greaves (of Wern Manor) who has been engaged on the work for some two or three years." |
