Summary
English: The fortified church in the hamlet of Tayac in the commune of Les Eyzies in the Périgord Noir near Sarlat-la-Canéda, built from the 12th century onwards. It was built by monks of the monastery from Paunat that used to be next to it to the north, later as the main farm of the château of Tayac and has been run as a B&B for about 15 years. To the south, next to the church, is the former presbytery, now owned by the commune. The church is part of the centre of Tayac, the founding place of Les Eyzies in the 12th century. The lateral wall reinforcements, the supporting pillars, can be seen. Among other structures, its two tower walls are remarkable. The church can be circumnavigated on a developed road. It is much noted both architecturally and by very many ornithologists, as some of the remarkable birds find food and also nesting places within its walls. Among others, the Wallcreeper and the Hoopoe.
