| Description |
English: Egilsay Primary School The school closed formally during the 2000/01 year, but in 2003 one child who lived on the island reached the age of five. He was educated at Rousay for three days a week, whilst a teacher would come across to Egilsay, opening up the school specially, for the other two days. This set-up continued for a few months until the end of 2003, when the ferry timetable was 'tweaked' to allow Jordan Basford to attend school full-time on Rousay.
The tower of St Magnus Kirk can be seen to the right of the school. |
