Edward Payson Tremper, born 16 Feb. 16, 1860 in Fulton, Illinois; died May 14, 1944 in Seattle. He came to Seattle in 1889. He was co-owner of Osborne, Tremper & Co., Inc., the largest abstract and title company in Seattle, and an agent of the Washington Title Insurance Company. In 1902 he purchased a large tract of land at Yarrow Point, and imported holly stock from England to plant on it. By the 1920s, he owned the largest holly farm in the United States.
