DescriptionEdward Onslow Ford (1852-1901) Applause (1893) front right, awaiting reinstallation at Tate Britain, Dec 2012 (8267674573).png | Previously seen in a glass case at the Tate's "New Sculpture" mini-exhibition of 2010, Ford's 50% scale lost-wax bronze of an Egyptian girl re-emerges from the vaults in preparation for being put on display in the new 1890 Room as part of the Tate's "Walk Through British Art". Hopefully this charming and rarely-seen piece will then remain on permanent display, though as expected she's now back in her glass cell, so these two pictures are your only chance to see her completely naked, so to speak. |
