Description
English: Portrait of Mr. Edward H. Coates, former president of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, as painted by J. McLure Hamilton in Murestead, Grove End Road, London, N. W., England. The portrait was likely done during the summer of 1912, when Mr. and Mrs. Coates were guests of Mr. Hamilton at his home in Murestead, and portraits of Mr. Coates as well as his wife were painted (see "Edward H. Coates" from Mr. Hamilton's book, Men I Have Painted)
