Coroner's Inquest - Ambrose Hart reports on death of Edward Dray Apr 1828 (4-485) Apr 1828. Will proved by oaths of Lewis Abell, Eli Dray/Draa; Ex-William Draa; B-$300; S-James Scott, Ira Rhodes; Apprs-Lewis Abell, Samuel Bacon, Asher Coburn (4-488) Apr 1828. Will: , To my ch - Charles Dray, Susannah McMahan, Thomas Dray, Nancy Wirick, Margaret Stephens, Mary Cummins, James Dray, Jane Moffet/Maffit, & Edward Dray, 112A of land in Weathersfield, to be equally divided. I am to have the benefit of the land until my decease. Wm Dray, sole Executor. Dated 28 Feb 1828; Wit-Lewis Abell, Eli Dray filed Apr 1828. (4-505) Apr 1828. Coroner's inquest, 6 Apr 1828. Verdict came to his death by shooting himself with a pistol. Alexander McConnell Admr debonis non filed S of Samuel Dray, former Admr (8-140) Nov 1835. P S details (8-252-253) Apr 1836. F S filed (10-240) Mar 1840. F S details - Bal[ance] due Admr Alexander McConnell $8.44, which was pd to the Admr by James Dempsey which balances the account. By amount pd me on a judgement recovered in the court of Common Pleas against the bail of former Admr on said Est $136. (Mat'l by GMW, not referenced - Said Edward Dray died leaving (besides the com-plainants namely) Charles Dray, Susannah McMahan, Agnes Wyrick/Wirick? wf/o Michael Wyrick, Jane Maffit wf/o Thomas Maffit, Margaret Stephens (Stevens) wf/o Henry E Stephen (Stevens, both spellings given - GMW) Mary Ann wf/o William Cummins, Margaret Stoddard, wf/o Amos A Stoddard (dau/o Thomas) & Edward Dray, the complainants; Robert Dray, Samuel Dray, James Dray, William Dray & the heirs of Thomas Dray, a son/o the said Edward to wit - Moses Dray, Thomas Dray, Josepl. Dray, Thompson Dray, Margaret Stoddard, one of the complainants a child of Thomas Dray; all minors in 1814; Also Anna (see Est/o Thomas Dray) and your lf,orators would further represent that William Dray, one of the ch & heirs at law of said Edward Dray since the decease of the said Edward, has deceased & left his heirs at law to wit - Eli W Dray, John C Dray, Seth Dray, Darius Dray, July Ann Dray, Elizabeth Dray, Amarilla Dray, mdtaida Dray, Amanda Dray, Agness now wf/o John B Rutledge, & Mary now wf/o Samuel Doud. Edward Dray ca 93 yrs of ae at time (28 Feb 1828) of making his will; petition to set aside will on grounds that Edward was incapable of doing business & undue influence; Filed June 21, 1828. Carried to Supreme Court June 1830. Decree of court, 2nd group (named) to recover their costs $263 from the first group. Decision dated 25 June 1830, filed Nov 2, 1830. Subpoena 24 Apr 1829 - could not find James Dray nor Thomas Dray within the County of Trumbull.)
