Onwettige zoon van hertog Willem van Beieren-Straubing (1365-1417), graaf van Holland, Zeeland en van Henegouwen. En zijn vrouw, Alijda van Swieten (1397-1467), dochter van Bodijn (Boudewijn) Dirckz van Swieten en Lutgard van Nijenrode.
English: Knight Eduard (also: Everhard) bastard of Bavaria (1420-1458), Lord of Hoogwoud and Aartswoud, was bailiff in The Hague. Illegitimate son of Duke Willem of Bavaria-Straubing (1365-1417), Count of Holland, Zeeland en van Henegouwen. And his wife, Alijda van Swieten (1397-1467), daughter of Bodijn (Boudewijn) Dirckz van Swieten and Lutgard van Nijenrode.
