Payne MA Rev D Russell Nr AH Wrampling Mr H Manning Mr CT Maud Mr CD Punchard BA Henry W Dobb MSA Architect John Moule Clerk. the Rev Alfred Corrie Almack, b. Oxon 1847, was later vicar of Blandford St Mary in Dorset , a notable author. Married 1887 in Stafford, a son Alfred Christopher C Almack was born in Edmonton in 1895. He died in 1930 in Poole, Dorset aged 82. He married Caroline Turnour who died in 1933 in Poole in 1933. In 1901 the family were living in Southgate. The architect Henry William Dobb is mentioned in connection with the building of The Greyhound in Earls court, 1899, from the firm Borer and Dobb George Borer was the architect of the Sandringham Buildings mansion block in Shatesbury Avenue of 1883 for the improved industrial dwellings company. Incidentally , Henry Dobb was married in Edmonton in 1882, (b. Rotherham 1858) where he died aged 77 in 1936 - so a local boy so to speak. In 1881, Dobb was a boarder with the said George Borer at Church Villas , Church Street, edomnton - so no doubt a pupil of the latter. Borer died in 1886 aged 47, and Dobb continued the practice at 99 CHurch Street lower edmonton (now N9) . In 1886 he was at 110 London Wall, EC. Borer was Architect and Surveyor of the IIDC. Sarah C Borer outlived her husband by many years, and died in 1931 aged 95. |
