| Description |
English: Edinburgh Waverley station: eastward on Down side, East Coast Main Line. View eastward on the newly extended Platforms 7/8, towards the Calton Tunnels, Dunbar, Berwick-on-Tweed and the South by the ECML, electrified in 1991. By that time, apart from the local trains via Drem to North Berwick, the ECML traffic was all that came to this end of Waverley. The former Waverley Route via Hawick to Carlisle was closed in 1/69, the line to Peebles via Galashiels in 2/62 and most of the various suburban lines before that although Penicuick lasted until 3/67. Up to the left is Calton Hill |
