Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Edinburgh Road, Linlithgow The old A9 passing the former St Magdalene's distillery, now converted into flats. The malting was done in the pale-coloured section of the building with the typical "pagoda" ventilators. The other buildings were where the distilling was done. The arched window at the near end was formerly a doorway where barrels of whisky were loaded onto carts and latterly lorries for the short distance to the bonded warehouses located a few hundred metres to the east. Some of the typical light lowland single malt from St Magdalene's is still available - at a price!
