Summary

[edit]
Description These artifacts are among the oldest known in the North America, and date to about 13,000 years ago. From left to right: a Clovis base that was found in Valley of the Gods (southern San Juan County) by a thoughtful hiker, who recognized it as important and turned its location in to the BLM; a complete (but broken) Clovis point from the Lime Ridge Clovis Site, one of two single-component Clovis sites recorded in the state of Utah; and a Clovis base that was found by Andrew Goodwin (Facility Manager, Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum) while hiking on BLM-managed lands in San Juan County.
