[edit]
Description
English: The Colonial Revival house at 2929 N Street NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., was built in 1907 as the Edes House. (also known as Edes Home or the Edes House for Elderly Women) Built as "a home for aged and indigent widows of Georgetown", the former retirement home was established by the will of Margaret Edes and originally financed through a $100,000 legacy she bequeathed. The facility remained open for almost 90 years and was converted into a private residence in 1998. The house is a contributing property to the Georgetown Historic District.
