Eddie Schneider Sets 3 Records for Junior Fliers. Roosevelt Field, New York; August 24, 1930 (Associated Press) Eighteen year-old Eddie Schneider of Jersey City, New Jersey landed here from Columbus, Ohio at 3:03 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) … … the following marks:

East-West, 29 hours and 41 minutes
West-East, 27 hours and 19 minutes
Round trip, 57 hours

The Goldsborough records were:

East-West, 34 hours and 3 minutes
West-East, 28 hours and 55 minutes
Round trip, 62 hours, 58 minutes

Battling a storm part of the way, the smiling junior flier came from Columbus field in one hop today, slicing one hour and 36 minutes from Goldsboroughs mark for the coast to coast crossing. Starting from Los Angeles … Greeted by his admiring father, Emil A. Schneider, and a large crowd of other relatives and friends, he modestly told of his flight. Two "tough spots," he said … He took his plane, "The Kangaroo," to a hanger and ministered personally to its wants, announcing that he would fly it to the Chicago air show tomorrow. First, however, he must deliver letters from the mayor of Los Angeles to Mayors James J. Walker of New York and Frank Hague of Jersey City. He also carried a letter from the Los Angeles Elks to the Jersey City Elks.

Works copyrighted before 1964 had to have the copyright renewed sometime in the 28th year. If the copyright was not renewed, the work is in the public domain. No renewal notice was found for this periodical for issues published in this year. For instance, the first New York Times issue renewed was from April 1, 1928. Some publications may have renewed an individual article from an earlier time, for instance the New York Times renewed at least one article published on January 9, 1927. If you find any contrary evidence, or the renewal database has been updated, please notify me. No renewal notices have been found for articles supplied by the Associated Press to subscribing newspapers.
