Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Russian Ship of the Line "Asow" and a Frigate at Anchor. Drawing, now at Statens Museum for Kunst. The problem with identifying the vessels is, that Azov (74 guns) was at Copenhagen in 1827, while "Hanhuth" (Gangut(?)) and the frigate Provornyi were there in 1828. So it could be Gangut instead. The ships were drawn at Copenhagen, but in the final painting they were placed in the more picturesque surroundings of Elsinore and Kronborg.
