Description
English: Sculpted panel by Jesus Otero of figures and inscription by Marcelino Menéndez y Pelayo. The installation is on the bank close to the source of the River Ebro near the village of Fontibre, Cantabria, Spain. The inscription reads; " keeping the rough mountain crags in his humble birthplace of the historic river that gives its name to the whole peninsula and after greeting the iron edge of the Basque Country and triumphant kiss the sacred wall Zaragoza come to pay tribute to your sea at Tortosa, in its majestic course symbolizing the supreme unity and fruitful diversity of national history".
