Description
Eesti: Vesikirp perekonnast Ebakiivrik (Simocephalus) pildistatud mikroskoobi all kasutades 8x objektiivi. Isend on kogutud Rakvere linnatiigist 2021. aasta novembris. Pildil on eriti hästi näha vesikirbu väliskesta pinnamuster, mis sellel liigil meenutab ebakorrapärast näpujäljele sarnast joonistust. See pinnamuster on liigispetsiifiline tunnus - erinevatel vesikirbuliste liikidel võib see muster varieeruda ebakorrapärastest joontest korrapäraste ruutudeni. Pilt on tehtud kasutades peegelduvat valgust, mis toob eriti hästi esile läbipaistva kesta pinnamustri. Pilt on tehtud kasutades fookuse virnastamise tehnikat (focus stacking), mis tagab suure teravussügavuse.
English: A water flea of genus Simocephalus photographed under a microscope using an 8x objective. The specimen was collected from a pond in Rakvere, Estonia, in November 2021. The image particularly highlights the surface pattern of the water flea's carapace, which in this species resembles irregular fingerprint-like lines. This surface pattern is a species-specific characteristic - different water flea species can show patterns varying from irregular lines to regular squares. The image was captured using reflected light, which particularly emphasizes the surface pattern of the transparent carapace. The image was created using focus stacking technique, which ensures great depth of field throughout the subject.
