Summary
[edit]DescriptionEaston, Former Lambourn Valley Railway - geograph.org.uk - 1659163.jpg |
English: Easton: Former Lambourn Valley Railway This is the trackbed of the former Lambourn Valley Railway which closed to regular passenger and freight traffic on 4 January 1960, almost fifty years previously to the day that the photograph was taken. However occasional military freight trains used the line to Welford and then to RAF Welford until 1973, before the track was lifted completely around 1976. Easton must be one of the very few settlements that the railway passed through that did not have a station! |
