Cassius had nearly reached the oppositebank, and, gaining some footing on the slipperyboulders, had turned round to chaff the wretchedCaesar angrily gurgling behind him, when, whish!the branch of a big tree whirling down stream caughthim a blinding swish across the face and sent himspluttering into deep water again.
