Summary

[edit]
Description
English: East window, St Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny. I don't often take photographs of church windows, but this one is magnificent. The original glass was made in the 14C. In the 1640s the Papal Nuncio, Rinucinni, had offered to buy it to take back to Rome, but the offer was rejected so he had it drawn. In 1650 it was destroyed by Cromwell's troops. The drawings were used to recreate the window in 1875.
