Description This cavern, some 150 feet below Grand Central, will house part of the new LIRR East Side Access station platforms, accommodating total of four trains - two each on an upper & lower level. The cavern is 1,150 feet long by 65 feet high by 60 feet wide. Two such caverns will hold a total of 8 trains. The yellow material seen in the photo is part of the waterproofing process.
