Summary

English: East Pikestone East Pikestone farmhouse looms out of the mist on its north-facing hillside above the Tees not far from Low Force. The thaw has just about come to a halt here at the moment, and snow still covers quite a lot of the hillsides, especially in the hollows were the soil is colder. Holwick is very much a "end of the road" community with no through traffic and a hostiule attitude to tourists from the Strathmore estate, who signpost "private land" at a cattle grid some way short of the end of the public road. |
