EAST CAROLINA TEACHERSTRAINING SCHOOL The East Carolina Teachers Training School is a professionalschool for teachers. Every course offered by this school is intendedto help the student to become a more efficient teacher. The calendar year is divided into four terms, any three of whichmake a school year. The summer term is on the same basis as theother terms. The entire school plant is in full operation, and everyopportunity is given to the students who attend the summer termthat the school is able to offer at any other term. SCOPE OF WORK The specific work of this school is to prepare teachers for anyphase of school work in the primary and grammar grades— any-thing below the high school. The courses of study offered for the 1921 Summer Term fit intothe scheme of the State Department of Education for the trainingand certification of teachers. Each course has a distinct value inthe new salary schedule, and the State Board of Examiners willgive definite credits for satisfactory work i
