Title
Early medieval small long brooch
Description
English: A fragment of an early medieval small long brooch, dating to the 5th to 6th century AD. The fragment is part of the head of the brooch, it is a cross shape with only two of the arms remaining. The arms of the cross have a narrow neck then widen to a rectangular shaped terminal. There are worn breaks where the bow and the other arm of the cross would have been. On the reverse there are two circular projections with circular notches in, this the remains of the pin hinge. The brooch has a dark green patina, and measures 20.9mm by 16.4mm, 6.5mm in thickness and weighs 3.77g.

A similar brooch can be seen in Macgregor and Bolick, 1993, page 145, number 15.77.
