Title
Early medieval coin, sceat, series E
Description
English: An early medieval silver coin; a sceat. Series E (AD 690 - 760), uncertain subtype.

The obverse has a crescent with a pellet towards the right hand end of it, with pelleted crescents parallel above and below it and quilled lines above the top pelleted line extending from bottom right to top left. Below the design are three conjoined parallel lines, with pellets at their joints. It is similar to Abramson, Frankener type F (p. 92), but is composite of those types.

The reverse is a standard enclosing a central annulet, surrounding the annulet is a circle of pellets, then a square of pellets, with additional pellets in corners. There are additional lines outside the standard. Compare to SUR-1CF184.
