Early medieval coin: Penny or sceat
Description
English: A silver early medieval penny or sceat dating to c. AD 720 - 735. Series O type 38 0100. Obverse: Bust right, long stub nose, pincer shoulder, swept back hair, inner stitched border, pseudo legend in margin. Reverse: Small bird flying right, in stitched double torc, enclosing snake, vestigial outer blundered legend. Abramson 2006 page 57.
