Early medieval buckle
Description
English: Early Medieval (11th-12th century) copper alloy buckle with wide angled plate. It is slightly bent.
The axis bar is triangular in section, being flat on the reverse. At either end is a semi-rounded triangular knop, also flat on the reverse. Around the axis bar is a sheet metal pin without decoratioiin and 3mm wide, narrowing to a point.
The outside edge is angled outwards and downwards and is max.7mm wide, narrowing to either side where it turns to join the axis bar knops. There is no notch for the pin.
It is 17mm long and 21mm wide. It weighs 2.24g.
