English: Early Saxon copper alloy buckle, cast bow-shaped sub-oval frame (20 x 31mm) with hollowed reverse, centre of outside edge blank for pin rest flanked by counter-relief pellets and outer bordering line, narrowed bar with plate folded onto reverse of frame. Plate comprises slotted sheet folded widthways with damaged rounded attachment edge (19 x 15mm), contains remains of rectangular sectioned pin. |
