English: Early Saxon buckle. Oval frame with narrowed bar, D-sectioned sides and outside edge. D-sectioned pin with blunt point curled over outside edge, transverse rib near rectangular sectioned loop. Rectangular plate of sheet folded into two equal parts, with pin slot and two convex headed rivets. Frame patinated a darker green. Frame 9 x 16.5mm. Plate 11 x 10mm. Mid 5th – 7th century. |
