Early Roman bow brooch
Description
English: Early Roman brooch; cast copper alloy bow brooch of probable 1st century date. The brooch has a very small head with virtually no extant wings. The bow is a simple, tapering band with no foot decoration. It curves deeply out from the head. There is no extant decoration on the bow of the brooch. The loop of the hinged, copper alloy pin is still present, but the shaft of the pin is now missing. Length 34.69mm, width 9.98mm, depth 15.30mm, weight 4.21g.
