Early Roman Headstud Brooch
Description
English: Copper alloy headstud brooch. Mid to late 1st C. Also has stud at foot. Both studs are recessed for enamel, together with lozenge recesses along upper part of bow. The lozenges contain alternately red and white enamel. Axis bar for hinged pin is housed in cylindrical wings which have bands of diagonal lines incised at ends. Most of pin and catchplate remain.
