Title
Early Post Medieval: Rimsherd from Tudor green type open bowl
Description
English: One rim sherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1500).

The rim sherd consists of a fabric similar to that known as Tudor Green, dating from the 15th to 16th Centuries AD. Tudor Green type wares consist of a pale fabric with a green glaze on both the interior and exterior of the vessel. The rimsherd probably came from a large open bowl type vessel.

The sherd measures 7.96 MM thick and weighs 26.1 grams. It measures 37.22 MM in length and 48.46 MM wide.

Sherd specific details:
Fabric type: Tudor Green variant
Sherd type: Rimsherd
Rim type: FRDEVT (Flat, rounded, everted forwards)
Rim diameter: 26cm
Rim Percentage remaining: 6%
Sherd thickness: 7.96 MM
Firing condition: oxidised exterior, oxidised core, oxidised interior
Hardness: Hard
Surface texture: Smooth
Surface treatment: green glaze exterior, interior and on the rim. Glaze pooling on the rim, suggesting it was left to dry upside down.
Condition of sherds: Slightly abraded.

Sherd has been photographed.
