Title |
Early Medieval tweezers |
||
Description |
English: An incomplete pair of copper-alloy tweezers of Early Medieval date in two parts. One part is a bent fragment of flattened copper-alloy with two transverse lines at the bend and longitudinal lines down each edge which is broken at each end. At the very end of one side is a ring and dot motif. The other fragment is a flared piece of flattened copper-alloy which fits to one of the broken ends of the bent fragment. The flared end is bent under. It is decorated with a line around the outside edge and a series of ring and dot motifs on the face. The folded fragment measures 24.95mm in length, 4.41mm in width, 3.27mm in thickness and weighs 1.67g. The flared fragment measures 34.61mm in length, 16.25mm in width, 0.85mm in thickness and weighs 1.75g.
This fragment is part of the set of tweezers found and recorded under SF-1C73E6 due to the proximity of the objects and the fact that the pieces join together. |
