Description
English: A copper-alloy harness link of 11th century date (see Williams 2007: 5).

The artefact has a central boss with a projecting lobe at the top and one at the bottom. The upper surface is flat and bears an incised saltire. Projecting sideways from either side of this boss is a short arm of trapezoidal section. The left hand arm terminates in a lozenge-shaped loop with a projecting lobe on each of its three external corners. Only a small portion of the right hand loop survives. The object measures 58.6mm long, 24.6mm wide, 9.9mm thick and weighs 26.59g.
