Title
Early Medieval horse fitting
Description
English: A fragment of possible Anglo-Scandinavian horse harness fitting, dating from the 11th century AD. The fragment is openwork with three circular holes in the lower part of the object, the outside edge is irregular and worn, possibly with worn breaks. The upper part of the object is slightly curved and concave, with two rounded knop projections in the top corners. It is possible that there is a zoomorphic face above the circular perforations with incised lines depicting ears and eyes, however this is very worn. The fragment has a dark brown patina, and measures 27.2mm in length, 20.1mm in width, 2.9mm in thickness and weighs 4.99g.

Possible similar records on the database are LIN-7C2052, PUBLIC-2DD634, SF-41A742 and SWYOR-A1CF99.
