Title
Early Medieval glass bead
Description
English: A blue glass bead probably dating from the Early Medieval period. It is sub-spherical with a central hole of 1.83mm diameter. It was made by coiling molten glass round a rod and the spiral trails of glass are visible in the structure. It is an opaque sky blue colour, with some scratching and pitting. Glass beads are difficult to date, but the other finds from this area suggest an Early Medieval date.
