Title
Early Medieval glass bead
Description
English: Two small glass beads possibly dating to the early medieval period. The larger bead is oval in plan and roughly circular in section with a central perforation measuring 3.4mm. The bead is opaque and has a speckled surface - this looks to have been the result of mud on the rough surface rather than inclusions in the glass. The bead measures 11.29mm in length, 9.3mm in diameter and weighs 1.21g.

The second, smaller bead, is short and tubular with slightly flattened ends. It has a central perforation measuring approximately 2.5mm which is discoloured around the edges, possibly where the bead was threaded onto a string of some sort. The bead is mid blue and slightly translucent when held to the light. It weighs 0.68g and measures 7.78mm in length and 8mm in diameter.
