Early Medieval equal arm brooch fragment
Description
English: Early Medieval cast copper alloy ansate brooch fragment; one terminal and part of bow only. 8th-10th century. Sub-rectangular tri-lobed terminal with out-turned corners. D-sectioned arched bow broken after 8mm. Reverse - two rectangular pierced lugs to take the pin - one complete, the other broken across the piercing; shallow, narrow groove running longitudinally between the lugs - perhaps made by / for the pin. Light blue-green metal. Length 19.0mm, width 14.1mm, thickness of bow 3.7mm, weight 3.94g.
