Early Medieval coin: sceat, series B, type 27b
Description
English: An early medieval silver sceat (early penny) of Primary Phase, Series B, (Type 27b), dating to c. 680 –c. 710; mint: probably East of England, possibly London. North 127 (b). Ref: North Volume I, 2006, pages 59 & 66.

Obverse: Blundered legend. Diademed bust right.

Reverse: Blundered legend. Bird on cross with annulet at end of each horizontal arm, and small cross before bird.

The sceat is 11. 2mm in diameter, and weighs 1.1g. The sceat is clipped.
