English: A contemporary plated forgery of a Merovingain denier, dating to the period c. 675-c. 750. This coin type is illustrated and discussed by Gentilhomme, who notes that it was popular in Orleans and Poitiers towards the end of the Frankish coinage period (1944: p. 201).

Diameter: 11.5mm in diameter; thickness: 1.5mm. Weight: 0.91g.
