Title |
Early Medieval buckle |
||
Description |
English: An early-Medieval, cast, copper-alloy probable buckle fragment, dating from the late 10th to 11th century. The object consists of one curve of the buckle frame with two, broken lengths of the sides of the frame. The expanded, front edge of the frame is sub-triangular, with a zoomorphic design of an animal's head with snout, eyes and ears. The reverse of the buckle is smooth and undecorated. The buckle has a red-brown patina and a very worn surface. |
