Title
Early Medieval buckle
Description
English: Cast copper alloy Early Medieval buckle.

It is D-shaped in plan and the pin is missing. The strap bar is straight and is narrower than the rest of the frame. There is no groove from the pin either on the bar or the frame. The frame widens as it moves away from the strap bar, being widest at the apex of the curve.

This type of chunky buckle dates to around the 7th-8th centuries.
