Title |
Early Medieval buckle |
||
Description |
English: Early Saxon oval buckle frame with pin, of Marzinzik’s (2003) Type 1.5a. The pin abruptly widens beyond the rectangular sectioned loop and is decorated with a pair of transverse grooves. It then narrows to a slight constriction that may be the result of wear. There is a marked internal thickening at the mid point of the bar. Frame 17 x 22.5mm. Pin length 21.5mm. Late 5th – 6th century. |
