Title |
Early Medieval brooch fragment |
||
Description |
English: Copper alloy brooch fragment. Cast bow, possibly from a cruciform or small long brooch, though an ansate form might also be considered. The bow flattens at either end: at one it is expanded, while merely ridged across the other end. Bands of horizontal grooves appear at the springing of the bow and, though worn, at the apex of its curve. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 500-600.
