Early Medieval ansate brooch
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy ansate brooch of the Middle Saxon period, 8th-9th century

The brooch is largely complete, missing only the pin and its hunged lugs and the catchplate.

The brooch is symmetrical, with trefoil terminals and a bow that swells in the middle and is D-shaped in section. The trefoil terminals are formed by three arms that are oval-shaped in section and have rounded terminals.
