Title
Early Medieval Naylor type A1ii late Saxon buckle
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy buckle of the late Saxon period, Naylor type 1Aii, probably of 9th-10th century date.

The D-shaped buckle is zoomorphic with a decorated frame. The worn beasts' heads appear to be biting the bar, and the outer frame has grooves creating banding that increases in size at it approaches the centre of the frame.

The bar is circular in section and the frame sub-circular in section. The pin is missing.
